Welcome to my new blog!
This is where I will share all my thoughts/knowledge/ facts about Yoga
This page is “About Me” Hmmm…. who am I ?
That question can lead one to self exploration which IS what yoga is about…. It is called Svadhyaya – self-study. To start I am Amy. I am a yoga teacher and a Realtor. I am a daughter, a sister, an Aunt, and a wife. However, Svadhyaya leads us to deeper parts of ourselves that do not have labels. (more on this in a later blog post). For now, I am Amy, a student of Yoga and its philosophy for the past 13 years.
I am not one who likes to list all kinds of letters behind her name (maybe because I don’t have many), however, for credibility purposes, I am a E-200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and a E- 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, (certified in 2006 with the Yoga Alliance). Both Yoga programs (under the direction of Susan Hamadock) combined elements of Body-Mind Psychology with Hatha Yoga and encouraged integration of body/mind/spirit with the deep understanding / study of the Self (Svadhyaya) . Whew…. thats a lot to say.
I am now the creator and director of a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training School, Be Yoga Fresh that was accepted by Yoga Alliance in 2012. I am currently in the process of becoming a Comprehensive Yoga Therapist. I have studied with some of the top teachers in the industry, whom are students of the Master’s. My knowledge is due to their knowledge. And this knowledge has been passed down for thousands of years. So I credit many, many teachers for my proficiency of yoga and its philosophies. More importantly I credit the wisdom of the ancient sages, who have passed down the wonders of yoga for thousands of years. I remain an open vessel to allow for more knowledge to flow into me, and through me to You. My yoga studies continue on a daily basis though their wisdom.
Lately I look at my life, the people in it, and I realize I have met the majority of them through Yoga. I look how I have changed in terms of approaching situations – Yoga. I look at the people who come into my classes looking for something …. and the wheels started to turn….. I said to myself, “self, yoga connects you”
So, Yoga helps me connect to me, to the many facets of my Being… my physical, my mental, my emotional, thru Svadhyaya (self-study). Yoga has connected me to some many others, and brought others to me…. and I help them connect to something….
Hence the name of my new blog Yoga Connects Us
Hopefully you will enjoy my thoughts, yoga facts and philosophy and through these posts somehow we will become connected.… or maybe even re-connect…
Thank you for reading and everyday, keep it fresh!
